About

Sharon Hinckley

Artist, Author, Photographer & Yoga Teacher. Sharon developed an interest in Art at an early age. At the age of 4, she made a large mural in crayon on the Living Room wall. She was sent to bed without her supper. Fortunately most of the critics have been kinder since. Her first love is Plein Air Painting. As long as the Light is interesting she is quite content to paint a bird, a bee or a building. She has had numerous one woman shows and her work is included in private and corporate collections throughout the world. Her work has been exhibited at the Rosicrucian Museum in San Jose, California and at the Museum of Natural History in Taipei, Taiwan.

Also in 1999, Sharon became a certified and registered Hatha Yoga teacher. The Japanese word for Western Painting is “Yoga.” Apparently she has been involved in “Yoga” all her life.

More recently, Sharon has used her Artistic eye behind the lens of a camera shooting people, places and pets. For 8 years, she created The La Jolla Calendar.

Has taught for the San Diego Watercolor Society, The Athenaeum, Bravo School of Art, Vi Senior Living Center, Wesley Palms, and The San Diego Community College District.
